The Kustom Deep End de50, 50 watt tube combo amp sounds pretty great on paper.

YouTube - Kustom Amplification DE 50 Amplifier

But, do any of you own one and could comment on the quality, tone, and volume of this amp?

Can it handle playing with drums?

It seems like its just a tube preamp.

50 watts solid state, isnt likely to be enough to play with a drummer, unless he plays really light.

ahh, i knew it sounded a little too good to be true. Is it a good bass amp though? I am torn between an Orange 50bxt and this Kustom de50.

That i coudnt tell ya. I havent played either. That being said, from the video, seems like it has some nice features for a good practice amp.

i saw a used one at guitar center for $99.99. It looked pretty cool since you can see the tube in the front but besides that 50w only good for pratices.

that should tell you something.

for $300 you should at least get a 100w combo.

hmm, maybe i should get a 100 watt. But Orange's 100w is around 400, and i dont want a 100w Ampeg combo.

Do you know if 80 watt amps can hold up to drummers? I like the Trace Elliot BLX-80. I've seen one for about 260, and that seems like quite a deal for one of these.

I recommend you avoid a new one entirely, and get a used Peavey 100w+ 1x15 amp. It'll be much cheaper, louder, and last longer.

what don't you like about it?

anyway, if a combo has a 115 or 210 in it, it stands a lot better chance of working for you than one with a 112, unless you go way up in price. if i were you, i'd start looking at the used market, because really, i consider the ba115 about as good as it gets at the $300 mark.

This.

or if you HAVE to have a combo...

My friend has one and it sounds excellent for 349.00 new.
Used price would fit your bill nicely.
