Though later I might put some little stickers on there under each knob and switch [thinking action heroes like: The Hulk, Boba Fett, Hello Kitty, Tinker Bell... that kind of stuff]. |

for my studio i use bridged class A HYRAGA KT90 30Watts
1rst 6SL7 in phase splitter voltage amplifier next two 6SL7 SRPP
to drive two KT90 in class A BTL bridged.
plenty of deep room and details, even driving one hard speacker like eminence definimax 4012HQ in semitobbogan box.
sorry for my bad english, italian in france... |

The NOS glass seems to have more character than the reissue stuff. |

JGR, you really inspire me.
I'm in the research and learning stage for a similar tube preamp design, for a graduation project. Have some ideas I would like to do.
Most defenitly a 6sl7 design, so this really gives me a kick!
Any tips for my beginning journey, JGR?

see schematics:
for low impedance amp (transistors) a 6SN7 catode follower its raccomanded for output.

I would start by reading as much as you can -Merlin's books are very good, as are the TUT series - just buy them in order as you can afford them. All of them are available from tubesandmore.com. There are a lot of affordable kits/project type of amps available these days, so I would get one of them, get it working, and then hack it to death trying different things so that you can start to develop a feel for what is going on. |
