I think I'm going to trade my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0-12T in for a Shuttle 9.0 head. I need a single cab to go with it. I only want one cab, and it needs to be small/portable. I want as full a tone as I can get with those limits. I don't have unlimited funds so let's keep that in mind as well.
I like the size/portability of a 112, but wonder if I'm missing something by having a single driver instead of two.
Any thoughts or suggestions. |

I use them in conjunction with an Orange Bass Terror amp and I am well pleased with the result. |

| | | | The only two 112's I'd consider for single, stand-alone use with a high powered head like the 9 for moderately loud, large gigs would be the Bergantino HT112ER or an LDS 12/6/1 (or other fEarFul type execution.
I prefer the Bergantino... more low mid meat and to my ear, a beautiful, smooth transition from that fat, deep driver to that very high quality tweeter.
Either of these will outperform most 210's. I will be getting one of Duke's 'Thunder Child' cabs, which is a bit of a different take on the 12/6 type thing, and that might be a contender, although at 4ohms, the 9 would be a bit much for that cab, which is optimized to be used with the more typical 500 watt or so micro's. I'll have a clip up of that cab with a few heads when it arrives in 5-10 days.
In a 210 with a Shuttle head, I very much like the AE210... very small, tight, bright, punchy... different vibe than the above 112's, which are more fat and smooth.
IMO! |

This is coming from Genz Benz engineers.
Of course I am not speaking from actual in-person comparison, but I used to own a 6, and I have a 9 on hold.
