Hey guys I need a little help. I'm trying to lighten up my bass rig. Right now I have two Aguilar DB 210 cabs. I love the way they sound but at 59lbs each its getting to be to much. I'm looking to get two 112 cabs. I went to Sam Ash today to check out some Epifani cabs but they did not have any on display. Guitar Center really doesn't have anything I want ether. In the past I bought two Aguilar GS 112 but found them way to scooped sounding. i returned them after a week. What would you recommend? I was thinking Epifani UL, Aguilar DB's.

The new AudioKinesis 112 looks pretty fantastic but at 4 ohms you'll need a 2 ohm amp if you want to run two of them, although there are claims that it could be louder than most 2 x 112 combinations.

| | | | Check out the Orange SP212. It's a 2x12 (Neodym's) but because it's isobaric (one speaker behind the other projecting through a front port) it's very small and light for the power rating (600W). I have the SP210 (2x10) and it's superb, especially used with the Orange Terror Bass which is also miniscule for the power (500W). I'm not sure that there are other isobaric's out there - maybe there are some but I haven't seen any. Has anyone else? |

I had asked a bunch of people for advice on which 112 to buy and their comparisons with the Eden sound. However a lot of comparisons came out across the board including a similar assessment of the GS 112 that you gave. Check it out if you want: Help? Going from Eden410/210 to a 112... |

The Berg AE112's are a nice too. Only down side is the worst spray painted covering i've ever seen. Very fragile finish...but they sound good. |

They are very nice cabs and are very popular. I've owned several myself and they rank among my favorites. They match up very well with the LMII/LMIII. But if you're looking for mid punch they may not be your thing.

Not sure if I'd recognize scoop if I heard it, although I've not had experience with tons of cabs or anything. |

Epifani UL2-112. Like it, very rich, slight scoop.
Aguilar DB112. Not like it a lot, very scooped.
Eden 112xlt. One of my favorite 112. Good sound, even though it is colored (it's my color).
Mesa 112. Tight, agressive. I would not be shy to push it hard.
Genz Benz Neox112. Very good sound, but had warranty issues from a rattle inside (bad experience). Still amazing customer service. Had it not been for my bad experience (personnal, it happens), I would suggest this one.
Berg HT112. I play it right now. Punch, not very deep, a bit agressive.
Berg AE112. I don't like the AE series, and I don't know why. Just not my style of sound.
Accugroove tri 112. WOW x 1000, but quite a bit more expensive.
