I currently have two 3012HO loaded LDS 112 cabs enroute and for the last 6 months or so I have been using my LDS designed 15/6.
I'm on the fence as to whether I should sell my 15/6 or not. I really like the cab, however, I am currently saving up to buy a newer car and need funds.
Will the 2 x 112 stack be as loud as the 15/6?

Wow.

If you're using a bass heavy sound, they will be very close to the same sensitivity with an extra 3db of voltage sensitivity if you're using a lower power amp (e.g. a LM2 or thereabouts).
The 3012HO has about twice the excursion-limited power handling of a 12 in a Schroeder cab, so keep that in mind. At least. The Schroeder 12s stop getting any louder after probably 75 watts a driver, vs. a ballpark 200 watts for the 3012HO.
Bottom line, if you like a bottom heavy tone, I think you'll be happier with the 15/6. It will be obvious.
I can speak to this comparison a lot; I have a 1x12 3012HO loaded cab I have directly compared, and one on one the 15/6 is much louder and takes way more punishment down low. For songs that require very heavy bass, the differences were exaggerated -- you need to add over 3db of bass boost to the 3012HO before it starts giving bottom like the 15/6, and once you do that you double the amount of excursion.

The 2x12 will be considerably louder in the mids and highs from the higher sensitivity of two drivers, but the 15/6 has higher capacity in the lows. Quote: |

| Why not play through them and find out for yourself? |

Just as rpsands had suggested to me in a pm, the 12s were easier to hear and subjectively louder, but they didn't even approach the low projection of the 15-6, even with grotesque eq changes that sucked my headroom into the abyss. The 12s (not at all the same drivers as the OP's) sounded great, but in a low mid sort of way.

I love everything about the 2 x 112 setup. Portability, tall stack etc and they will likely see all the pub gigs which I mostly do. However, there is the odd time when I play bigger stages and can put a good 10+ feet between myself and the cab (weddings & corporate stuff) and I think thats a better time for the 15/6. Although I'm sure I could use the 2 x 112s for those situations as well. I've been at a couple gigs where I really needed to crank up the volume into my 15/6 and I was very happy with its performance. I'm leaning towards keeping it now.

Actually my peavey dpc 1000 could make it happen. However, I would be hard pressed to need that much volume... my bandmates would be telling me to turn down, no doubt about it.
It would be fun though!
