15" Cab Speaker

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I've bought myself a secondhand Carlsbro Bass Reactor cabinet with a blown speaker, I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations as to what type of 15" speaker I should buy.

Bear in mind this is my only cabinet so far, I'm looking to spend below £100 ($150). I want to match the cabinet with my GK700RBII.

Here's a picture to give you some idea of what it looks like:

Need outside measurements and measurements of the ports.

The cab's measurements are height 27", width 24", depth 15".
It has 2 ports with diameters of 3" and depths of 4.5".
Cheers.

It's a bit on the big side for a 3015, right size for a 3015LF + midrange driver.

The downside is, the 14 square inches of port area is waaaay undersized for a 3015LF, and fairly undersized for a 3015. I'd like to see at least two 4" ports for a 3015 and 3 for a 3015LF (or two 5" ports for a 3015LF).

Why not get the oem speaker reconed to keep the cabinet in spec? Probably a lot less expensive than an new speaker.

I've considered that but the speaker seems a bit battered and very old, also the screw holes in the cab don't entirely match up with the screw holes of the speaker. So I'm suspicious that whoever sold it took out what ever decent speaker they had in there and threw in this crappy one.
