1964 ampeg portaflex

having trouble getting the new can capacitor wired in. its a 40/40/20/20 it seems when i increase the voltage the rectifier tube gets to hot? and there is no sound but all the tubes glow.
can any one help with this thanks...

Personally, I'd have a qualified and competent amp technician take care of it for you. I'm rather a whiz with electronics, can design fairly complicated circuits for various purposes, BUT, never work on my own amps. It's a pretty specialized feild, best left to the pro's. (unless you are one, in which case, nevermind).
