1970's Kustom Head and 2x15 spotted in store

I saw this online and wondered if anyone was looking for an old Kustom rig. Bill's is great to deal with, and usually negotiable. http://www.billsmusiconline.com/vbakus026-10283.html
Mark

PS - It appears that they mislabeled it as 1960's. Someone more knowledgeable says it's from the 70's

that one at Bill's Music is actually a mid 70's KUSTOM, and IMO, he's a bit high on the price of it. if it had JBLs it would be priced about right.

A Kustom head and 2x15 for less than half of the price in the OP post. If you're in MD/PA it looks like a sweet deal.

EDIT: realized OP IS, in fact in MD... Dude, get this if you want some Kustom goodness!!

I know, right?! It looks sweet!

Kustoms are actually becomming pretty saught after in our area (i'd like to take at least SOME credit for that ).

At most local used places, the heads alone have been going for $300-$400ish.

The Kustom in the OP's link is too much. $400 for the full set up would be a bit better.

Thats a Kustom 250 head, and will give you about 125w or so of clean SS power.

The KUSTOM 200 that is linked later on is 200w PEAK, and 100w RMS or so.

I have a later Kustom, and a WOODSON cab. Anybody here ever heard of Woodson?

Nope, neither with that set up. (I have multiple heads and cabs though for if i need to)

That set up of the Kustom200 and Ampeg 2x15 was my rig for 3 years of full-time touring and NEVER had a problem. It held up perfectly fine with a guitarist using a Peavy VTM-120 and full stack. It was cranked about 2/3 to 3/4 and has the most amazing over driven tone i have ever heard out of a SS amp.

PM me if you get to play near Baltimore and I'll stop out. Sometimes I get a call to mix a band in Frederick and I'll let you know.

I have two Kustom 250 heads and the 2x15 with the two ton metal horn in it. Kustom tuck and roll vintage stuff just rocks.

Also... Kustom heads can double as pillows on tour

I've totally slept on mine more than a few times.

That head has been there forever. At least a year and maybe more. They should try lowering the price unless they don't mind waiting. I have played it and it sounds good.

I have bought several things from there with great service. They have revamped and consolidated (they used to have 2 stores right next to each other). I haven't been there in a while. It might be time for a visit.
