True, true... that's common sense, but I think see what the OP is after. If you're trying to really whack the speakers (get the most out of your amp and cab), then you want to know what the cab is rated at.
Ampeg flatbacks were rated @ 240W, then they went up to 300W later in the 70's. The two cabs
sound different with the same head partly since the older drivers are being pushed harder.
I won't push my flatback with my SVT since I don't want to cook those nice old drivers. I use amps that are less than 200 watts.
This makes sense with the Orange: if it's only rated around 200 Watts, then you could push it with a Sunn 2000S or 100W Orange or 100W Hiwatt or something like that and be in hog heaven.
The basschat.co.uk lads might know what's up with this cab since they're so many more of them over there. It's worth a cross post IMO.
