Hey fellas. I have always been a "Bass head" into cab kind of player. Well I had been using a Sunn 190B that I got from a fellow talkbasser a few years ago. The amp served me very well and I love the tone. Used it on my band's album and went around the state with it.
The time has come however for the venerable Sunn 190B to retire to a posh and fluffy life of studio-only performance before anything happens to it.
I am slowly acquiring the parts to create a new rig. I decided to go with Carvin because of the affordability factor.
I want to try something new, so I bought a Carvin DCM2000L Power Amp.
I use a Sansamp Bass Driver Pedal, so am I correct in thinking that THAT is going to be my pre-amp?
The second question is as follows: In 2 weeks I am going to get a speaker cabinet. I have always used 2 1X15" cabs, so this time, I wanted to get a 4X10" cab.
Carvin has the BRX10.4NEO, and it is rated at 4ohms impedance.
The DCM2000L is minimum 2ohm per channel and 4 ohm "bridged". This is what the instruction booklet reads.
Question is: Will I be able to hook all of this together and get back to the bottom where I belong?
The power amp has an output in back that reads "bridge only". Is this the output I will be using from here out?
And there is a button for bridge in the back too...It seems like these power amps are made for PA systems?? Just a little confused, and if you all could point me to a tutorial, I will get out of your hair!
Thank you very much for your time
Sunn (now Carvin...)
