1st live gig with Mesa Boogie Walkabout

Hi guys,

after a long time in the rehearshal room we are now ready to play a live gig in september.

I play a Fender US Jazz w/maple neck through a Walkabout with a TC Electronics 2x12 and 2x10 cabinet.

I have low mids boosted, bass slightly boosted. Gain 2/5 and Volume 1/2. Thatīs the sound in my dampened practise room.

If there are other users who play this amp let me know how you setup live. Itīs a great amp and if you use TCīs setup vertically its such an amazing improvement in sound!

I play rock and funk with some slap stuff.

The manual reccomends not to boost - what do you think?

+1 I've gigged my Walkabout and Uber 212 rig several times, all controls at noon, except the passive mid turned up to 1 o clock. Sublime tone, and enough punch to cut through 2 guitars.

The WA also sounds really, really good with a Berg AE410.

More or less, I run mine at these setting for both Double Bass and electric:
input gain about 1 oclock
bass flat
mid at about 10 oclock
para bass set at 50hz, trimmed some to about 10 oclock. this serves to tighten things up a bit.
para mids set at about 500hz, trimmed baco to about 10 oclock.
para treble set to 2khz, pushed forward to about 2 oclock
treble set flat, or perhaps trimmed a bit, depending how bright the axe/cab/room are.
master gain set where ever it needs to be for appropriate volume.

I usually use two LDS 2x8's, stacked vertically. One has a horn, one has a mid driver.
But, I also have an LDS 4x8+horn, and an Epi UL410 that work nicely.
I also have a Henry 8x8 that works really well with the Walkabout.
