1X10 and 2X10 cab config?

I have a 2X10 Epifunky cab (by Epifani), rated for 200 watts at 8 ohms.

I want to buy an SWR Workingman's 1X10T, rated for 80 watts at 8 ohms.

I also use a Fender Rumble 350 head.

What do you think of using a 1X10 with a 2X10?

If you do so, put the 110 on top and listen closely, as it will be sterssed to the point of failure before the 210 breaks a sweat. If you boost bass enough at loud enough volumes I sure even that Rumble can shred it. Be careful.

Since they are both 8 ohm cabs, they will each get 1/2 the power from your amp.

By doing that, you effectively restrict yourself to around 150 watts now (1/2 goes to your 80 watt cab) - the 1X10 will be your "weak link" and subject to blowing if you play too loud or hard.

If you're keeping the 210 'funky, another similar 210 is the way to go. Best would be an identical Epifani 210.

I don't say restricting but would say overpowering. That's likewise many folks call it in a very similar situation.

The situation equals 410 cab 8 Ohm 400 Watt and 15 cab 8 Ohm 160 Watt.

To be honest, nobody talks about restricting, most of folks talk about overpowering in this case.
Probably restricting power is to be considered on same speaker size diameters but overpowering is to be considered on different diameters.

But I don't suggest Ohm mismatch on the same speaker diameters anyway.
Hope that helps.

He didn't mean restricting in the electro-mechanical sense, rather restricting the user to using lower power than that available. There's nothing wrong with his terminology.
