I've been prodding around, trying to find comparisons, I've had some luck, but can't seem to find a thread on these 2 specific ones.
I'm in the market for a 1x12, it would be paired with and Eden WT 400, and possibly an Eden 2x10 wedge. I may get rid of this if I go to 2 1x12's. Anyway, I play in my church, but also play in a folky, country style band. '78 Jazz and an NS design EUB is what would mostly be going through this rig.
I'm looking at either an Eden box or an Aguilar, they seem to be more in my price range. So, who has experience with these? I prefer a tight, focused sound, if it moves alot of air, great, but I usually roll a little mush out anyway. What are your suggestions? And it seems to be the consensus that 2 are better than 1??
Feel free to point me to a thread out there if you know of one...
Thanks! |

Can't say about the xmax limitations but the speaker could take a pounding from the combo version I played around with.
I see no reason to even think about spending 500 bucks on 1x12 when you can get one of those bad boys for 225 shipped.

| | | | 12 Inch Box I play an Azola EUB through an Eden 112. I'm hoping to get a second one. I use an Ampeg single 15 when I play outdoor gigs w/o PA support but find it too boomy with an EUB.
For bass guitar I use and Eden 4-10. |

Also, don't for get that DNA will be releasing their new line of cabs soon; check them out, too: http://dnaamps.com/cabgallery/ |

And as I said, the best match I've heard with the WT400. |

The MBE spec sheet (downloadable from the GK website) shows the sensitivity rating as 91dB (@ 1M @ 1W I assume)...

Thanks! | Check this little baby out. I've posted about it in other threads, but I could not believe it when I heard it. http://www.samsontech.com/products/p...2042&brandID=3
Be sure to check out all the features. Real punchy, but more bottom end than you would think. I love the switchable ohms, tweeter, and 30lbs! I play Hartke, so I'm biased a little, but not blinded by the name. Been playing over 40 years, so I've tried and/or owned most of the name brands, too.
Customer service is unparalleled, also. You can call Larry Hartke any time of the day or night. That's worth a lot.
Hope this is helpful,
CD

MM | 91 seems very low.

Impedance: Switchable between 4 and 8 ohms | Very handy to have this feature, I've often wondered how to do this, if there is some sort of resistor you could put in line to change the load. Very impressive, but for some reason, I see Hartke, and I think 80's.... Lol, not sure why. |

"And to make the HX112 more accommodating for a variety of settings and playing styles, the speaker has been engineered as a dual-impedance driver, allowing you to switch between 4 and 8 ohm impedances for additional flexibility."
I know what you mean by "I think 80's", but things change....
With Larry's responsiveness to new ideas and changes from a bassist's perspective, his brand has continued to improve, but it's his goal to keep it affordable, too. That certainly does not mean it's cheap.
I've been playing since the 60's (started when I was nine), and the new HyDrive stuff is the best I've heard, regardless of price. It is that good. And with the extra money, you can buy TWO!

Hopefully, I'll love it, but I can always sell it (I've seen these move on this site fairly quickly) if I don't. Besides, that is part of the mystical tone search, right? 90% of us have a 'previously used gear' list that would make Guit Center's inventory look like a bad pawn shop (some might think it does already!). | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
