1x15 vs. 1x18... which to get rid of?

Hey guys,

I have, according to my room mates, too much 'crap'.

I'm picking up a near-mint Acoustic B410 for a cool $100 (thanks CL!), and it will negate the need for one of these cabs:

-Peavey 1x15. It had the black widow in it, but has been replaced with a jensen (iirc) or some other not-gret-but-not-crap 15" speaker last year. It's smallish, and not deep. It's heavey, and sounds okay.

-Fender 1x18. It's a ginormous wedge shaped moniter/PA that i've been using for bass for a year or so. It sounds pretty damn good and way punchier than i would expect... but... it is BEYOND awkward to move and is ridiculously heavy and unbalanced.

So... which would you get rid of?

I have never used these two cabs together, i have a 2x15 and 6x10 for bigger/louder gigs. These, as well as the 4x10 are all stand alone cabs for smaller gigs.

i would get rid of both of them.

it sounds like the acoustic 410 will take care of your smaller stuff and the 2x15/610 will handle your bigger stuff.

That makes a lot of sense, haha.

I seriously had not considered it. I think my mindset was: i know as SOON as i get rid of both of them, i'll find myself in a sittuation where i need an extension cab.

yea, I'd get rid of all those cabs and just run the 6x10 and 2x15 at the same time! ^_^

seriously, though...I'd base it on which one sounds the best to you.

Get rid of both. The money should afford you something like a Carvin 1x18 that is more normal shaped and will allow you to stack the 4x10 on top of it.

Truuue. I have cab options to think about now...

Thanks guys, i'm gonna do some measurements of the b410 when i get home and see how everything.... STACKS UP!
