Hey! I have 2 bass heads.. A Mesa 2000 and a Mesa M6.. Both have tube preamps and Mosfet solid state power amps.. Can I run either head without a cab ? I know that a Head that runs with Power Tubes need the cab to discharge the Load ...Do these need a cab? Thanks.....

No, they can both be used without a cab. Is the preamp/poweramp what you are referring to by saying "in series", or are you trying to feed one into the other?

You can run ss power stages unloaded with no problem so if you want to use the pre amp of one but the power amp of another no problem just hook the line out of the one you want as the pre amp into the FX return of the one you want to use the power amp of.
Sorry! I meant running the preamp of the M2000 into the M6 and then into the cab for"live".. Also for studio,then I wouldn't have to carry a cab in for some bass projects... So effects "out" to effects "in" should work? I just want to able to use both heads for their preamp sounds....
