Question Is 2 preamps worth it?

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently use a line 6 bass pod xt pro through an ashdown LG 1000 into a schroeder 21015 (custom wired for the LG outputs 2x500W @ 4 ohm). I like the sub dub setting on the line 6 but originally planned on using it as a tube emulated preamp/compressor. I dont feel as though the tube preamp setting really adds much.

I am wondering if anyone has tried using two preamps in a lineup. Would the pod set on sub dub into a bbemax-t for warmth and the sonic max be too much? Would this be something I run through the effects loop of my LG?

I know it is all just signal tweaking but any help would be appreciated

You can chain as many gain stages as you want, just being careful that one doesn't overload the next. It may be overkill, or it may be your tonal nirvana.
