Hi guys,
Sorry for my poor english. I'll purchase a Hartke LH500 head. But I'm not sure about what cabinet ... I have 2 options:
Option 1: To purchase 2 GK NEO 112 II. Price 618 EUR.
Option 2: To purchase some high quality 2x12. EBS NEO, Markbass, Glokenklang, etc. All of them around 1.000 EUR.
Now I'm playing some kind of funk/soul/rock, with a Benavente SC 5 (Alder/Rosewood). I need/love a tight low end! I hate sparkling sounds.
The answer is: Will the 2xGK NEO 112 II sound as good as other high level 2x12. Or I really will apreciate this difference of price? I know, it is very personal, but it will be fine to read your opinions.
Thank you so much!!

I play a lot of old school funk and soul, too, and it is perfect for that. the contour button is basically a B15 / Bass man button - it scoops out the mids. Leave it out and you can get the Acoustic bass amp sound, too. The boost control is the key to the amount of grit you want to have.
For the money you're talking about spending, you could get a pair of these things and have 4 -12's at 1000 watts and a total weight of less than 80 lbs..

| | | | So far, I personally have not done an A/B of the GK Neo vs other cabs; however I have some experience with the Bergantino 1x12 and 2x12 variants (AE 1x12 and 2x12 and HT112ERs), and I have played through the GK Neo 2x12.
I would say Bowlus and some of the others might be able to interject more, but in my opinion, the GK Neo 12s sound really good. Again, no direct A/B as of yet here, but for the $, the GK Neos sound nice. |

But I'm not sure because it's frequency range (52 Hz - 18 kHz). Reading the especifications, this cabinet theoretically is not sufficiently depth to reproduce a deep low end. I could be wrong ... for sure, but unfortunately I can't try this combo here in Spain.
At this moment I'm so happy, playing through a generic P.A. 18" cabinet, a 500 W power amp and a TL AUDIO 5051 IVORY II pre. WOW!! I really like it!! but it's not mine ... and it's so HEAVY!! And I will have many gigs in a few months.
Thank you for your opinions, any others will be welcome.

I think that 2x112 GK NEO will work fine, it could be a good modular rig. But it would be a personal bet, not sure about it.

I'm a big fan of the EBS and Glockenklang 1x12's (and 2x12's), too, and don't forget Bergantino. But those GK's are pretty darned amazing in the price/performance ratio. |

I am quite happy with them. In my case, portability was a big issue due to neck surgery, and these cabs are super light. Loading a 2-12" could be tricky for me weight wise and the single 12's fit easily side by side in a car trunk. To top it all off, they really do sound great! Paired with my Mesa Walkabout head, I could not be happier. You should have plenty of volume with a 500watt Hartke I would think.
