For a while now i have been using a Gk MB210 for my double bass and electric but lately i have found a need for more volume on my electric bass gigs. I have tried both the 15" and 12" external cab's and still can decide the 15 has more booty but the 12 have punch and clarity........what are you opinions? |

Another 210 same as the one you have now. Stacked vertically of course although I think the mb210 has speakers in opposite corners right? Then whichever way makes the skinniest tallest stack. |

But if you have to choose between the 12 and the 15, I would go with the 12. I would rather have punch and clarity than boom, even if the boom is louder. |

bass likes to be in-phase with other bass, so identical cabs will have better low end efficiency. (plus, a 2x10 will kick butt over a 12 and maybe even a 15 anyway.)

| | | Do yourself a favor.... get the 15. For dynamic range v's distance from cab, no other combo comes close. I've been in the room with so many other configurations.... This is the one. Seriously, go to your local guitar store and check it out for yourself. Walk around the room while you play, give yourself some distance from the cab to let the lower Hz waves develop. You'll be surprised by the old 15.

That's why if you have a subwoofer in your car (a good one, anyway!) you'll have more bass with the windows partly down. The soundwaves are longer.

I have been running a 15 with a 12 for awhile now with no problems, but I have to remember not to push the 12 too hard. When mixing speakers like that one cab will always be more vulnerable than the other---usually, that is. At least that's the way I understand it as I try to learn more about all this. In my system everything sounds fine, though. Much fuller sound than the 12 alone. The 15 alone can get almost as loud as both together, but running both cabs together is really the cat's pajamas. But, as I understand it, running identical cabs is better, actually.
