2x15 or 4x12 for V4-b

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys. im currently gassing for a 70s V4-b and was wanting some help on which of these two cabs to buy. one is a 2x15 and the other is a 4x12, both are from fliptops. here are the links:

2x15

4x12

i only want to use one cab with this head. i was wondering if anyone has any experience specifically with either of these. which will give more volume? is there a significant difference in sound? and does anyone know the weight and dimensions for either? thanks.

Quality didn't really change.

I'd go 2x15.

Quality didn't really change much, but I personally prefer the non-master volume models (earlier ones). As far as cab, I would think a 4x12 would move more air than a 2x15, but those B25 2x15s (at least the originals) are supposed to sound pretty good driven hard by a nice tube amp so I'm sure that would work pretty well.

I'm using a sealed 4x12 and think it sounds fat and somewhat quick. I do believe 12's do give you that "in between" tone a bit between a 10 and a 15. I enjoy this setup, however, I do like 10's and 15's as well.

It's really what you prefer, and I think the 4 12's give you a nice wall of sound.

The 2x15 might have more low bass sensitivity, but it won't be as punchy in the mid bass. I don't know if this matters to you, but the 4x12 will fit better under the V4-B and make a better guitar cab.
