3015/3015LF replacements?

Sign in to disble this ad
With the Neo prices going through the roof, has anyone found a reasonably priced driver (weight not an issue) to use in the 15/6 cabs? If this has been previously discussed, please direct me to the thread. I've looked at the EM Delta 15-8 as a possible replacement, but don't know enough to say for sure.Help!!...

if the box design calls for a 3015LF then use the 3015LF, if you use a different driver chances are the box is wrong for it, as for the delta's,,, they have a much lower Xmax, the above point applies again, random box stuffing is unpredictable at best, IMO leave the design to those who understand it.

the 3015 is very different to the 3015LF. same applies tho.

Neo prices seem to have stabalised somewhat, buy now FWIW, its very hard to get the same performance as the 3015LF from a conventional heavy driver, the definimax comes close (ish) but the price differential hardly makes it worth considering IMO

when i 1st started my journey to build myself a decent bass cab i too wanted a cheaper alternative, but decided to keep to the design, not all 15" drivers sound the same, same applies to all sizes,

in the end its all compromise, size, weight, volume(spl), COST, etc etc,,,, good luck

There are quite a few drivers with similar specs to the 3012LF and 3015LF, you just have to search them out. When you do you'll find that for the most part they aren't much less expensive, if any. The 3012LF and 3015LF are actually still reasonably priced for what you're getting; before the neo price jump they were very underpriced, relatively speaking.
