Allright. My current and normal setup is a Nemesis NA650 into a Genz 410ST. I have a GK BLX410 I add when I need more volume. I do not usually have PA support. I'm happy with the sound and nothing has every given me any problems... but it's heavy. Especially at 230am.
I recently acquired a GKMB115 combo for practice and small jam sessions, and it's "shown me the light", so to speak, that great tone and volume can come from small, lightweight packages.
I'm basically looking to completely replace my Nemesis/GB/GK setup.
For cabs, I'm really eyeballing the GK MBE Series, particularly the 212s in 8ohm. I like GK, and these are a good price point for me, plus I'd like to maintain my current flexibility of one -or two cabs depending on the gig. For a head, I'm really undecided, but leaning heavily toward a Shuttle 6 or 9.
What I really wonder is if 4-12's are as loud as 8-10's? We're typically a classic rock bar type band. We play some outdoor parties in the summer too.
Suggestions?
-Dave

-Dave | Four 12's can kick some butt. Plenty power. |

I can wheel them out, but I still have to lift them into the bed of a 3/4-ton Dodge 4x4. Again, at 3am, it sucks more than a little.
@Jackcheez:
I figured as much. I know they get a lot of love here on TB, but a search only got me a couple threads pertaining to my main question and I wanted some more info, warm fuzzy feeling.

D | if you lean the cab on the tailgate you only lift part of the weight.....if your truck is monster truck lifted,a small utility trailer with a tailgate that drops down to form a ramp works.....i used to know a guy from joisey that hinged a ply ramp on the back of his econoline van,and he could drive his electra-glide right in while walking beside it

- GK MB212 combo. I use this probably 90% of the time, covers everything except BIG rooms and loud outdoor shows. 37 pounds = love.
- Carvin B1500 into a Schroeder BMF 412. This does the other 10%. I used to carry 810 cabs but decided to try the 412 thing as a lighter option. The Schroeder weighs 65 pounds and I put casters on it, so moving it is easy. It sounds freakin' huge too, don't know if it puts out as much volume as an 810 but it's sure close enough for me. |

If you're trying to shed pounds you should really look at the Schroeder, at 65 pounds there's nothing else even close to it for lightweight cabs.
It's expensive...overpriced really, if you compare it to something like the Bergantino 412, which is about the same price, but in another class entirely in terms of construction, but they seem to be available used (that's how I got mine). |

e.g. the Berg NV412 about as loud as the NV610
most 810 are louder than the 412 of the same quality
e.g. Aguilar DB810 can get louder than the DB412
IMO the same applies to 410 and 212
