Ive decided to keep my big rig, but get a beefy combo. like everyone else and due to the times, try to get the best bang for the money. I have been looking at the Peavey Tour TNT, but I heard its not really 600 watts. The TC Electronic BG500 which seems pretty cool, and the Ampeg BA600 little more then I want to pay. Last the new Hartke H5410 Its a new combo with the LH500 head with 410s. what do you guys think.

Pick up a Bag End 15 and use the head that you have now.

+1, get a smallish cab and use your amp. Of those combo's, I'd pick none of the above, and in fact, except for the Mesa walkabout Scout, I wouldn't really bother with ANY bass combo. You always get cheated on cab size with a combo, so they never sound as good or full as the same size spkr in a proper sized box.

With the new lightweight heads and cabs I don't see any combos that interest me anymore. Too many mix and match possibilities.

The Mesa Walkabout delivers a very conservatively rated, and huge sounding 300w into 4 ohms (it will do 525w into 2ohms unoffically). It comes in a 1x12. The 1x15 is a bit on the largish side for a combo, but still a very manageable combo. Considering that you listed a Hartke H5410 as one of your options, I would guess the Walkabout 15 would not be an issue. Another cool feature of the Walkabout combo is that it is designed to have the amp removed to use with larger cabs, or cab combination's.

Hard to beat this tone monster, great piece of gear. Based on your comments, the new price for one might be a bit out of your range, but they appear used fairly regularly and the Mesa 5 year warranty is fully transferable.

good luck on your search.
