4-conductor speakon cable for full range?

Sign in to disble this ad
My new GK Neo 212-II is arriving today. I see from the manual that it will come with a "4-conductor Speakon® cable for Horn Bi-Amp operation." It goes on to say that "You may use a standard 2-conductor Speakon® cable for full range operation."

My MB500 amp does not bi-amp. I will be running this cab in full range. So... do I need to pick up a "standard 2-conductor" speakon cable? Seems like it's saying I can't use the included cable for full range operation. True?

You can use the same 4 conductor cable.
The cabinet just won't have the other two wires of the speakon connected to anything.

It'll work fine. Two of the four conductors are the exact same as a 2 conductor cable. The manual is just saying that a 2 conductor will work for full range just as well as the supplied 4 conductor.
