4 ohm/Lightweight/2x12 or 4x10/Aggressive AND loud full tone/High volume capability

What is on the market? I realise the market has a lot of options with the specs Ive just listed.

What I am after is a aggressive/hi-end sheen type of 2x12 or 4x10. Most of my gear is towards my goal of warm, chewy lo-mid focussed type of tones.

I'd like something totally different, and I mean TOTALLY different. Horn is definitely required. What is on the market that can produce these tones, is lightweight (ish) and is capable of pretty high volumes with zero issues? Im guessing:

Berg AE212 or 410
Berg HS410 (yes, I sold mine, and perhaps I should have kept it!) - quite smooth sounding though
Genz Benz Neo X 212T
Genz Benz Uber 410/212

Any other ideas? Has to be available in the UK. Unfortunately these are all VERY expensive models, apart from the Neo X 212T. Im guessing for sheer pumping volume, the 4x10s are going to nail it and not run out of steam.... Cheers

Unfortunately, the market has just taken a drastic shift in the past week...some of the models you're looking at may no longer be available, and some of the pricing you have is probably a lot lower than it will be at the time of purchase.

Since you're in the UK, you really owe it to yourself to check out a Barefaced Super Twelve T. From what I've gathered, it would seem to fit your tone & performance goals to a "T". Kind of a no-brainer really...

If you have the patience and money, you can have LDS build you want you want. I just received my 212/horn cab from Don, and it is the loudest, 212 cab I have ever played through, bar none. I play a 4 string passive Jazz, and I'm not a massive bottom kind of guy, but this cab gets it done enough for me on the bttom end, and the midrange is just killer. It features the Eminence 3012HO woofers and an 18Sound Xd125 horn/tweeter. You can find pics of it in the Low Down Sound mega thread. EDIT : oops, just noticed you are in the UK ! I don't think Don ships internationally, but I could be wrong.

Why would someone want one from the US when they get a great design based on the same woofers, right there in the UK? barefaced makes better sense.

Barefaced Bass - Super Twelve

Or with more depth:

Barefaced Bass - Big Twin

NEOX fits that tonal bill and gets pretty loud, but a 212 will only do so much... better get 2

I'm definitely considering neo, but no idea what I'm going to do now Berg have stopped the AE line. I'm guessing Genz prices will also increase.

Not sure purchasing another cabinet will help resolve this particular strain of GAS for you. But good luck on the quest!

The Neox-212T Does seem to be a really good 212 cab to cover a good range of tone and volume. I have one on lay away and will be able to give a better report in a month or so when I get it out.
