4 ohm tube bass head into a 8 ohm cabinet. Am i going to fry anything?

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. I seriously don't want to fry anything. I have an Ampeg SVT-3Pro head and an Ampeg SVT-410HE cabinet. Head is 4ohms and cabinet is 8ohms. Head has a tube preamp.

No worries! You will do no harm. You just won't be getting the max power out of your amp.

Btw, a solid state amp with a tube in the preamp section is not really a "tube amp" per se. What you have is a hybrid amp.

Your 8-ohm cab is actually going to be easier on your amp than a 4-ohm cab.

Found this in the Classifieds. Isn't your amp marked the same way?

yeah, a solid state amp isn't "4Ω"; it's "4Ω minimum". anything over the minimum number is fine, it just gives less power.

(a handful of preamp tubes doesn't matter, that's a solid state amp).
