Obviously the 115 is the weak link, so should it be on the bottom (maybe coupling with the floor?) or on top of the 410?

I guess on the bottom would work as it acts as a convenient stand for the 410. |

2 15 = Great
2 410 = Great

However, if you are going to use it, I would personally put the 1X15 on top of the 4X10.
Since the 15 is your weakest link, I would want it up closer to my ears so I could hear it when it is crying uncle.

| | | Maybe it's just me, but when I put my 410 or 210 on top of the 115, it sounds like crap. Yes it projects better, but then again, it projects all the squeaks, clanks, and fret noise directly at my ears. Also (maybe just an illusion), but it seems i lose a buch of lows this way as well. To my ears, both cabs on the floor (in a normal bar/backline situation) seems to have the biggest/thickest tone. Is this just an illusion from dispersement angles, etc?
..yeah, I'm no audio engineer nor do I pretend to be one, that's why I'm throwing this scenario into this similar thread

| It is. All the squeaks, clanks, and fret noise are still there, you just can't hear them, along with your mids and highs, because your ears are on your head, not your knees. |

| | Sometimes it's one more note than what was needed! | | | | | To me a 1X18 is a great cab to catch that extra octave but a 1X15 is a waste of space, unless you're going to use two 1X15 cabs only.
I also consider 15's a very punky sounding speaker.
I would always go with two 4X10 cabs (as I do now) and always put the biggest speaker on the bottom if I choose to use different speaker sizes in the same rig.
When I used a 1X18 and a 4X10 in the same setup I always bi-amped and crossed over.
The speakers work far more effieciently in a crossover situation. That's why sound systems are 2, 3, or 4, way and just about never run full range. Thus the tweeter in most bass cabs these days.
