Which 410 cab? Help Please?

Sign in to disble this ad
I need a 410 cab, maybe two when I get more cash.

I was thinking a Hartke 410XL or Ashdown MAG 410.

My budget is about 300 pounds per cab

Thanks

Not enough information to make any recommendation. Myself, I recommend well tuned 15's stack them up if you need to be a loud mofffo.

Ashdown Mag 300 or Mag 600 or GK Backline 600. Theres another thread on that too

Im thinking the Ashdown 410 because of the 101db sensitivity.

15" of surface area vs. 40" of surface area? The 4x10 wins by a long shot!

Anyway? Im pretty sure I want a 410, its a case of whether to add a 115 or second 410 when the time comes. If im liking the 410 in stage situations, il get another.

I have no experience with the Ashdown cabs, but I've owned Hartke cabs and didn't like 'em (too sterile and not handling high volumes and low freqs too well). Now I'm using Kustom Deep End cabs (light and cheap) and for the money, they're quite nice.

My suggestion is to get your bass & amp to the local guitar store, try as many cabs as possible and get the one that sounds best with your stuff - regardless of the brand. IMO it's pointless to recommend this or that because different amps through the same cab will sound...well, different

You mean 176" x the 15" woofer's xmax vs. 314" x the 10" woofer's Xmax? There's more to it than just driver size

I hear good things about the Hartke Hydrive cabinets. Really, either of the cabs you have named would be a good choice. Have you had a chance to play on either one?

I havent had a chance to play them.

The Hydrive stuff is a bit out of my price range.

Dang, EB, you sure do bump a lot. Why don't you hit some shops up and just see what you like? Take whatever you already have for a bass/head and plug in.

if you have a GK dealer in the area try a 410mbx. Good cab for the money and it will handle more low end than the hartke. and if you do go hartke def get the 4.5
