410 Farting out? I know a lot of "farting out" threads exist, mostly due to people overpowering or playing through a bad cabinet. I played a GK 410 MBE (the old model, the one I played is rated at 400 watss and the new one is rated at 800 watts I believe). I played one at guitar center today, with GK's 200 watt micro amp at a conservative volume. No super deep lows, high mids, with a p bass and a pick. The thing was farting out like crazy. It just didn't want any volume! Although I'm not interested in this cab, I'm currently designing a sealed cab with Don from LDS. To avoid my custom cab to do this, what causes a sealed cab to fart out. What can I do design wise (we have good drivers picked out) with the cab to prevent this? |
The cab is probably already damaged from being driven too hard. |
The 400 watt cab used 100 watt ceramic drivers and yes was probably hurt by someone. Good drivers within a properly sized/designed/built box will go a long way. |
