I blew mine a few months ago and I need to replace it. Does anyone have a spare? When can I get one? Eden's website says parts section is closed.

Thanks

If it looks like this (this is for an SWR cab), you are in luck. These are available at auto parts stores. You need # 211-2 bulb.

Hopefully your horn is still ok, I've had/seen enough blown Eden horns that I'm not sure that bulb really does what it's supposed to do. I wonder if there's a lighter duty bulb or fuse you could substitute to better protect the horn?

One may not be enough

I bought an Emminence 2 way crossover and it had two of those bulbs with the leads soldered together. The bulbs were parallel. That was a 250 watt crossover and was far heavier built than the Eden crossovers. US speaker also has the bulbs but wants about $5. Emminence claims the bulbs are special long-life aircraft bulbs.?.?

They are, 24v as opposed to 12v for cars. Speakerhardware.com carries them.

The horn was fine. It was indeed the bulb. I decided to dial back my tweeter from now on out. I really don't know why I had it at 12 o'clock in the first place.

That may not protect the bulb. The bulb filament resistance increases when it gets hot, which reduces power to the tweeter. However, if that increase in resistance takes place post-crossover it lowers the crossover frequency, which makes matters worse, not better. Therefore if properly done the bulb is pre-crossover. That means turning down the LPad, which is post-crossover, does not reduce power through the bulb. OTOH reducing you amp HF EQ reduces power through the amp, and along with it the bulb, the crossover, LPad and tweeter, so that's the first place you should reduce the highs, not the last.

+1

The bulbs do offer protection especially if the overload happens a little more gradually but I have seen a quick shot like a slapped string or the crack from a cable getting pulled out get through and damage tweeters anyway. I can't stand seeing people make connections or hit power switches with volumes anywhere other than completely down....one of my pet peeves.

I believe the specs for the bulb you need in an Eden 410XLT are:

12.8V and .97A.
