Question 450W Cab and a 500W Head?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi im new to this and tried searching but i couldn't find answers. I know the cab should support more wattage but will the 50W missing damage? I own an ashdown mag 410 cab and mag 300 amp but i've tried out the orange bass terror which is 500W and loved it. Please help!

Also the other consideration is the ashdown little bastard head which is 30W...will that be loud enogh for gigs lol? Sorry for stupid questions, just curious and want learn.

Many thanks!

My understanding is that people use higher wattage amps with lower watt cabs so that they can run the cab to it's full potential. As far as I know, you should be fine, don't run at full volume all the time.

the missing 50watts will not be a problem. I have played1500watts into a cab that is rated for 400watts and as long as you don't push it too hard it is perfectly fine. if you hear the cab starts distorting, just turn down a bit.

I doubt the little bastard would be loud enough for anything more than a small coffee shop size gig. the 500watts from the orange will kill the little bastard volume wise.

LB will do small gigs with a good cab. I wouldn't use mine to do a rock gig with a loud drummer in a pub
