4x10 project finished

DONE! so i'm still a computer moron and don't know how to get big beautiful pics into my posts, so sorry for that. ANYWAY here's the first of two 4x10 cabs i'm frankensteining. the one on the right is what they both looked like a month ago. The left is new "everything but the box". they are peavey PA columns i think 260 era. Truck bedliner in leiu of tolex. Rubber coated steel grill. All in all a win, but until i got them side by side and compared the tone, i was a little scared that i was just running in place and wasting money. The orig does sound a little brighter, but can't handle as much power. That's it, though. The finished one beats the orig by a mile in thickness and depth. My amp starts clipping before I can get to a level that i feel could show the drivers' limits, so fingers crossed until i can track down a loaner amp for more intense testing. NOW THE BEST PART---- The drivers were $10 each! I just picked out the cheapest woofer with decent specs to throw in it until i could budget eminence or something, but now i might just keep the '****' ones in there!

Just fyi-got a shuttle 6 for a day and i'd put a rating of about 220-240 watts on the cab before my tone makes it fart, and with $10 speakers. i can't wait till i get big boy drivers in there.

Nice I actually like the white or silver on the sides of the original. If you put those behind the grill, It would look killer.

one quick note--- did anybody else see last week's Mythbusters? they featured the same bedliner brand (LINE-X) that i used. it shrugged off C-4 like it was a snap-bang. I CHALLENGE MANUFACTURERS TO START USING THIS KIND OF PRODUCT! i paid retail and this cab only cost me 40 bucks to coat, including the baffle which most only paint. i totally get that this would still be a very expensive option to the carpet or vinyl, but what a major improvement in durability!
