I've got about 20 days left on my RH750 trial and looking to replace it due to the info that has come to light about TC Electronics recently. Anyone know of a similar amp (at least 500 watts, small/light box, built in tuner) not made by TC Electronics that I can replace it with? Thanks. |

As far as features being packed into one, TC has it......unfortunately they're honesty has been burnished a bit. |

| | | | The Line6 HD750 is discontinued, and I think you have to get the tuner/pedal board separately. Do you have to have an onboard tuner? There are many with a tuner output. The Ampeg pf500 has gotten a lot of good reviews in the forum. It has tuner output, so you would need a separate tuner, but at the price of the pf500, adding a tuner shouldn't be a problem.

To my knowledge there are no other micro heads that have a built in tuner. Is there a reason you don't want to use a separate tuner? There are many excellent 500 watt amps without built in tuners such as the Carvin BX500 (which does have a tuner out so you can attach a tuner directly to the head.) or the Ampeg PF-500.

I might be stuck with this TC amp unfortunately. I hope that other (honest) builders follow suit and start building tuners in their micros as well. |

Are you changing tuning a lot through the set? Does your bass stay in tune through the gig, or does it require frequent adjustments to maintain tuning? Do you own a smartphone? If you answered no, then yes, and then yes again ( ) I would suggest you get an amp without an onboard tuner that you like, and download one of the readily available tuner apps for your smart phone and use that before the gig starts. I've got one that I use frequently... Unfortunately for the point of this conversation, the app in question is the TC Electronic Polytune, haha.

If you are against pedal-solutions... I dunno. Just seemed like a good compromise position to me because i'm already running a compressor and a bass driver pedal. Plenty of room left on the board, so... |

A Pitchjack plugged into a tuner out jack works quite well, IME...

The tuner clips on your bass(so you don't have to have your bass turned on) and is very accurate. I never use my pedal board tuner any more. I got mine for $13. plus shipping from Strings and Beyond on sale. |

I wouldn't think of using it at a gig. It's weird to leave it clipped on all the time, so you'd have to turn around and grab it, clip it on, turn it on, turn your volume down and then begin tuning. With the pedal, I just step and tune. And I think it may be more accurate, not sure. |

Now you have to sell it, though nothing's changed with the amp.
