500w (or there abouts) for around £400 ($600)?
 

Sup TB, i play mostly rock and metal (some blues too) and am looking for a thick punchy sound thats also bright (think Geddy Lee or Dave Ellefson) and have £400 or around $600, what head do you recommend? i play through a Hartke 4x10 :bassist:

Ampeg PF-500. There have been some QC issues reported, but it's a great sounding head as long as it doesn't melt. The Hartke LH500 is also in that price range (I think), but the last time I tried one the tone was way too bright in the lower treble frequencies for me, and seemed like it would benefit from a one way cab (no tweet).
