Question 7025 Tube Question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I'm looking to replace the tubes in an amp I just picked up and I had a question about its two 7025 tubes.

Can 12AX7s be used in place of 7025s?

The amp in question is a 1978 70w Bassman Ten from Fender.

Thanks

12AX7 Vacuum Tube List

"7025- This is the "hi fi" low noise version of the 12AX7. All other specifications are the same as 12AX7. Tubes marked with 12AX7 and 7025 both should be low noise, too. "

I tend to prefer other 12AX7 alternatives in its place...the 7025, or I've recently become a fan of the 5751, which sounds more musical to me.

Yeah, I had already been to that site. When you just dropped $500 on a hard to replace amp, you kinda want to be super sure before messing it up.
