Hey just wondering how these sound for bass? These are late 70's Eminence speakers. Can anyone tell if they are alnico or ceramic?

I believe the original cts speakers were alnico and the later eminence were a copy of those. they are guitar speakers so they won't handle bass well at high volumes.

+1 it's a guitar cab. I wouldn't bother with it, unless you need a guitar rig.

Eons ago I had a '75 Ampeg V4 into an original V4 cabinet that was tremendous for bass... Of course, this was back in the day's before the internet when everyone could tell me that it couldn't sound good... I rocked it loudly for a good long while, with nary a complaint...

Fast forward 20 years... I picked up a '71 V4 head, and after a few years of searching, scored an empty V4 cab... Loaded it with 2012s and it was a beast. With the right speakers, that can be a killer bass cab! Recently sold the rig, but I believe the new owner agrees...
