8 Ohm or 4?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm currently trying to run a biamp set up, but sometimes for smaller gigs i would only want one cab. I am running an Eden WT 400 @ 4 Ohm and the other head is a '68 Bassman its 50 tube watts (I'm assuming its a 4 Ohm head)

Now the question I have is the cabs. I just purchased an Acoustic B410 I really like the tone and it is 8 ohms. So i was thinking of getting another 8 ohm 410 so i could do an 810 with my Eden. But then i realized my main goal was to use both heads...So should I use two 4 Ohm cabs rather than two 8 ohm ones? But then i couldn't run both cabs off one head.

What do you all think? Thanks for the help...any advice is appreciated

...either get another 8 ohm box or get a 2 ohm stable amp/head, get rid of the 8 ohm cab you just bought & get two 4 ohm-ers; sounds like the 1st option is easier...also for a smaller gig (how small I suppose?), but your Eden & Acoustic should likely cover it I'd think...

...if you decide to go 2 ohm stable, though, I might be persuaded to rethink my iAmp 800 or 400+...

I could just get two 2x10s at 4 ohms each. So i would have a 410 all together
