800RB Boost Question

Sign in to disble this ad
This is just a curiousity question....I've always thought it was interesting that the Boost feature on the 800RB is footswitchable, I was reminded of that last night after seeing the little light on.
How many of you actually use it that way, engage/disengage the boost for different songs, etc.? I just use it as part of my overall sound, so it's always on, and wondered if some bassists used it as an "effect".

I have the 2000rb and I abuse my footswitch way too much. We do stuff that needs a cleaner tone, but at other times just an in-your-face snarl. Gotta love it.

I used a footswitch for a while but now I just crank the Boost all the way up.

The way I've come to understand it by looking over spec sheets (i may be very wrong, but i don't think i am) the boost circuit actually contains the G.I.V.E. technology and helps to spice up the tone. I set mine at 12 o'clock and it helps the bass grind a little more. It is post effects loop in the circuit so be mindful of that if you use lots of effects as you can use it as a line driver after a long effects chain.
