whats the ohms rating on the cabs , my guess is they would be able to run through the 300 watt section , both of them , but again whats the ohms of each cab?

I believe the Goldline 410's are 8 ohms so two of them should be no problem. Just make sure you're plugged into the 300 watt taps. Those cabs actually sound good. That should be a killer sounding rig.

It sounds like you got a great amp, for a great price.
Congrats!

That is a great amp. The seller probably considered it outmoded or underpowered, but you'll find that it's far louder than any other 300-Watt-Rated amp out there. Part of why it's great is that it's designed to cut out the lowest of the low bass frequencies, which you DON'T want on stage anyway since they often just turn to mud and cover up your own thumping groove and a lot of what's going on sonically in the rest of the band.

The 100 Watt 8-ohm section is a bit of an outmoded design, but an added bonus if you want to stack 3 cabs for an outdoor show, or run an 8 ohm "floor monitor" to your drummer if your band is running its own simple PA setup. Then you only need to worry about vocal monitors.

The other thing about the (still in production and not cheap) and the discontinued 400RB is that their construction is more robust, repairable, and better sounding than modern printed circuit board amps. They do tend to hiss a little and you'll hear a little thump from your speaker drivers when you power down, but those are the only two negatives I find about them. I got my 800RB with a rack case and a minty vintage GK210T cab for $399, which is comparable to your bargain. I think they usually ruin closer to $350/400 used. Which is still one of the best bargains out there.

Let's see a photo!

I sold my 1987 800RB last week and, even though it hasn't been my main amp for six years, I miss it.
(bought it new)

So I used it at practice and it didn't really have any problems other than the fact that I didn't get as much low end with it compared to the backline600. But it was definitely louder and had more balls for sure.

It's designed that way. I think it's actually more practical in a full band setting to not have those deep subbass lows going on in the bass. Lock in with the bass drum and you'll groove plenty.

800RB

My 800RB running a 4 ohm cab at 300W and an 8 ohm cab at 100 W
on top in full range mode + DI into the PA = golden.
Simply wonderful.
Great Amp........not to big or heavy either.
Good luck!
