800RB EXPERTS....

Sign in to disble this ad
I had a 200RB, 400RB and 800RB back in the day so I'm pretty familiar them. There's a guy selling an 800RB for $250 up the way, I was considering getting it as a back-up, as well as something to bring to situations where other bassists may be playing, occasionally I do "Pro Jam" gigs that are of course anything but pro, and my main rig is anything but strait forward.
I don't yet know whether this is an older unit or a newer one and I understand there may have been some changes to the 800RB over the decades.
My question is this: are the newer amps as good(durable) as the old ones? Is there anything I should look for? $250 seems like a good price if everything is in working order, even better if I can talk him down to $200. I'm not to worried about external condition as I'll probably rack it, but will the rack kits work on the older amps as well as the newer ones?

Any advise from the collective is much appreciated!

Thanks!

LPB

Nothing to be concerned about. I think a few parts have changed over the years due to availability, but all versions seem to perform as expected. You can't go wrong at $200-$250.
