800rb and fridge

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys. I want to make sure I'm thinking straight on this befor I burn my amp up. I've got the kind of ampeg fridge that has three seperate 1/4 inputs. I believe the way it works is if there's something plugged into the top connection it puts it in duel mode where that (the top) input is for the top 4/10 and is 8ohms and then one of the bottom inputs is for the lower 4/10 and would also be 8ohms. If you want to run the whole cab alltogether then you'd plug into one of the lower inputs and get it down to 4ohms. I only ask becuase I was messing around with the gk's biamp feature and figured instead of using two separate cabs I could use the top and bottom of the 8/10. Since either half of the cab is 8ohms it should work with the high output of the gk and all should be cool huh? Does anybody see any problems with this? Pro's, con's?

Plug the LF into the 8x10 4ohm plug and build a fEarful style headcase for the HF output.

maybe skip the horn - or if you want one maybe use the LeJune HP instead of that store bought one

I plugged up a 800RB to a 1515/66 fEarful the other day and it was astonishingly loud and punchy.
