Sign in to disble this ad
Sorry for sounding like such a moron. Today when i played it in gc i just plugged it right into speakers lo.

But how come it has a 8 ohms symbol pointing at the input?
I just want to make sure i'm doing it all correctly. Am I?

And what's the speaker high for?

Use the "speakers.low" section, (the bottom jack). The top is only for the 8Ω 100 watt section. You can use "speaker high" to bi-amp into second cab, but you'll fry that section of the amp if it's less than 8Ωs.

So use the speaker low for a 4 ohm cab? It doesn't matter which side right?

Exactly. Doesn't matter what side. Use the low for 4ohm 8x10.

No, it has a "4Ω total" symbol pointing to the inputs on the bottom.

The "8Ω minimum" symbol is referring to the top jack.

the 800rb has TWO power amps... the top jack is a 100 watt 8ohm amp... the bottom is a 300 watt 4ohm.. so you can use ... 3x 8ohm cabs... 1x 8ohm and 1x 4ohm... or just a 8ohm or just a 4 ohm.. NEVER plug a 4 ohm cab to the 100 watt 8 ohm...

to be on the safe side.. always plug you signal cab in to the 4 ohm jacks..

What happened to it? What are you playing through now. I was going to get a 1001rbII but I tested the 700rbII and the 800rb. And i just fell in love with the 800. Plus the 700rb when i cranked it, it just shut off on me multiple times.

however i just picked up an 80lbs 300 watt all tube ampeg... lol

but yeah.. i needed money for other gear and the mb2-500 beat out the 800rb.

Are you talking about the 8x10 when you say it has 8 ohm symbol?

I used a GK800 with an 8x10 for a long time. Always use the 4 ohm (lo) output like everyone's said.
That combination kicks ass for rocking.

And make sure the biamp button on the front is in the OUT position.
