Just curious if anyone is able to fit an 810 into the back seat of their grand am. I really want to get an 810, but a new car isn't really an option so if it doesn't work then I guess a smaller cab is my only option.
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. |

| | | | I believe 810's are usually around 48-52 inches tall. Measure your backseat from the back door armrest to back door armrest (they sometimes over lap the seat) with the doors closed. I would think you'd have that space. The problem lies in the door opening itself. The ampeg 810 is 26 x 16 or 18 on the floor. You'd need that in the door opening for it to go. I have a Dodge Spirit, which has a pretty square door opening and I cannot fit my SVT-410 HLF, which the same width/depth as the 810. Hope that helps.

The door was kind of strained as I loaded it in and out, so if you're planning to keep the car in mint condition, I don't think this is possible. But just being able to fit it with no ther factors I imagine you will be fine. Measure across your backseat at the skinniest point to be sure.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. | I have my doubts about it laying on its side in that vehicle.
You may need a 1966 Bonneville for that, LOL! I used to fit my Acoustic 301 in the backseat of a '71 Dodge Coronet 440, no problem, and an 810 would have fit instead--though they were not my cup of tea.
Consider one of these (2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring):

I could fit a 610HLF and a straight-back 8x10 into my chevy aveo (as well as an SWR big bertha, SWR henry the 8x8, and a 70s fender bassman 4x12). Also, people I know can fit the 810E across the back seat of their lumina and maxima. The 8x10 can be a pain to move on your own since it doesn't have side handles, but if you tip it onto the seat and then push it across (and don't care much about your interior) you should be fine. |

And buddy, if you gotta have a 8x10, you need a truck or SUV. That's part of the co-pay.

I too used to schlep my rig in tiny cars - I broke not one but TWO windshields, from the inside, schlepping 4x10 cabs around in various tiny hondas / Toyotas...
I learned. Now I have a truck.

I learned. Now I have a truck. | I played with a guitarist who smashed the rear window of a minivan with an un-secured 4x12. It happens. |
