8x10 speaker questions

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Peavey TVX8x10 which came with 8 Peavey Sheffields 121-4 #96000416...on another thread I came across the info that these should be 75 watt speakers.
The TVX8x10 is rated at 400 watts for the whole cab.

One of my speakers is blown and I plan to run only 4 speakers until I replace it and am using a 300 watt Ampeg SVT classic.

Is there any reason to think that these speakers are less than 75 watts due to the rating on the cab as a whole or that 4 of them won't be enough for the Ampeg. I'm not gonna try to kill it or anything, normal loud playing.

As for the blown speaker...is a very high or very low ohm rating any type off sign for a blown speaker? The speaker looks good and moves smoothly but was very distorted.
