I'm looking at this for my next amp: http://www.carvinguitars.com/product...ct=BX500-10.2N
and I would like to make sure that adding one of these: http://www.carvinguitars.com/product...uct=BRX10.2NEO
in the future would work with little fuss. I've been studying watts and ohms lately, and according to what I've read, this would be a simple upgrade later, but I want a second opinion.
thanks |

So while the single 210 @ 4 ohms will get 500 watts, when both cabs are connected the power to each cab will be 250 watts or so. You'll still get 2-3 dB increase in volume from the additional speakers, but not the 4-6 dB you'd get from doubling the power in addition to the speakers. If that's cool, then it's cool. The BX1500 or B2000 would give you a greater increase in volume, but they cost more.... OTH, limiting the amount of power the speakers see may not be a bad idea.
Cheers!
Just for reference 10 dB is "doubling" the volume.

I highly doubt the 2x10's are displacement limited near the 500 watts so it probably is still closer to the typical 6db quote for doubling cone area on a SS amp. That cab can probably handle more then 250 watts but how much more?
That is not in any way to state that running the head with a single cab is dangerous, simply be careful of EQ and volume settings. |

I'm just gonna stick with the BX500 and 1 BRX10.2NEO now, more than enough power for what I'm doing, but I want to have something that I can scale up over time if I ever need to.... |

That is not in any way to state that running the head with a single cab is dangerous, simply be careful of EQ and volume settings. | the site says the cab handles 600 watts, so I'm not worried about blowing the speakers |

IF you like what you hear from your proposed initial setup, you will liekly like it more and more as you scale it up, because with bass, more is almost always better. |

| | | Congrats on the new stack! Please don't misunderstand me, I think your selections are excellent, especially if you stack them vertically I just wanted you to be informed while making your decision.
