About to wire 8x10 cab, will this result in 4 ohms?

Sign in to disble this ad
My speakers are 8 ohms, as below

The cab is 8x10, so if I wire the other set of four the same as above and then wire both sets to the jack, will that result in a total cab impedance of 4 ohms?

TIA

The diagram you show is 8 Ohms total. So if you wire two of them in parallel, then the total impedance will be 4. Yes.

Notice MOses said, "if you wire two of them in parallel".

The corollary being if you accidentally wire the two groups in series then the resulting cabinet will be 16 ohms.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it with my multimeter before plugging in an amp.
