Accoustic bass in a regular amp OK??

Just curious..is it recommended or whatever to use accoutsic basses with a normal rigs(gbe 1200 with a an uber 810).

I ussually just send a line to our mixer DI.But Im wanting to try this for convenience live.

Should be fine, aside from possible feedback issues. Just keep it pointing away from the amp.

The only caveat I see is that the acoustic bass probably uses piezo pickups. These output a lot of subsonic noise that can stress your speakers. If you watch your speaker cones while you simply press on the strings you may well see them move slowly. Mine certainly did. Cure was an addition of a high pass filter to my amplifier chain. I set mine at 15Hz.
