Acme B 1

I often look at the classifieds on TB and I might be wrong but I think that the Acme B 1 is the fastest moving item in the TB classifieds ...they are usually gone within a day....

I know this is useless info....but I was wondering you all thought??

I bought an absolutely butt ugly lowb2 on craigslist and have to say its really one heck of a little cab. I imagine I'd feel similar about the lowb1, and for what I use it for may even think more so.

If you've played one and its going for a good price, I can see why they move.

I think price point, including original retail and the subsequent markdown on old used gear, has a lot to do with it. They just arent expensive for what you get.

b-1s are great because 1 can take you pretty far (with enough power) and then you can add them modularly to make bigger rigs, or use them as a mini pa...

I could even imagine using a couple or 4 of them(surround sound) for home entertainment's surround sound system. I often wonder what 8 B1's would sound like compared to the 4 B2's at a show.

The ACME's make for KILLER full-range speakers.

B-4's are 4 times better...do the math. Great cabs and require little, if any, EQing.

While I'm not a huge fan of the tone of these cabs, I will say that they are the only cabs I've experienced that are totally scalable (i.e., two B110's sound IDENTICAL to a B210, etc.). Pretty impressive.

I just scored one here on TB and I'm wicked stoked!

For what I use it for, I like the dimensions and weight way better than the Aguilar 1x12 I've been using. It's not as light as a 1x10 could be (I think the Neo Schroeder & Epifani models are fully 10 pounds lighter). But I love how beefy these Acmes are built.

I also love the low end I'm getting. I've only ever felt this with another Acme.

The upright sounds radically different but I like it. I could be heard and felt, even with a super-loud drummer. At tonight's rehearsal, the P-bass never sounded better. Each axe seems to have its own distinct personality with this cab.

So, yeah. IMO this cab is definitely worth nabbing.
