ACOUSTIC 370/450 rig question

Sign in to disble this ad
I play in an experimental music band and we use two basses (thus two bass rigs ) ...were thinking of adding two single 15'' yamaha 120watt 8ohm speakers to each of our set ups ...mine is an acoustic 370 with a 201 2x15 and my bandmate Nadine uses an acoustic 450 with a 405 4x12 ...will there be any issue ohm wise ? any risk of destroying the wee yamaha's ? thanks for your help in advance !

There could be a problem with the ohms. You'll have to check with your heads can take as a minimum, and what your cabs are. But I don't think it would do you much good. Both of you have rigs that'll get pretty loud already. Plus there's always the possibility that the Yamaha cabs will negatively interact with your Acoustic stuff. So I wouldn't bother...just put them up there for looks

The 370 is quite happy with a 2ohm load so you shouldn't have any problems running the lot in parallel (which isn't to say it will sound any good). Not sure about the 450 however.

Adding 2x15 is electrically fine for either rig. How it sounds you'll need to test yourself. You'll be louder than the 450/405 rig.
