Acoustic 406 Bass Cab HELP!

Sign in to disble this ad
So I was playing a head that I don't normally play through my cab (sunn concert lead), and the next thing I know the amp starts getting quieter and the cab dies. There shouldn't be an ohm incompatibility. Anyone have any idea how to go about troubleshooting this?

it sounds more like an amplifier problem than a speaker cab problem, but it would be best to try it with another head (and cable, speaker cable and bass, if possible) to determine which has the problem.

John,

Thanks for the reply. I immediately tried 2 different heads, a different bass, and different cables. Still nothing with any combination.

it's sounds like you possibly blew the speakers. i'd try the 9 volt battery test to see of they make a popping sound, or measure the cab's DC resistance with an ohmeter.
