Acoustic B100 amp EQ question

Sign in to disble this ad
So i recently got back into playing with an amp since i wasnt able to take it to my college dorm this semester. Anyway i was never really good EQing the amp even when i had it with me and now that i've got it infront of me i really cannot find a way to set up the EQ to find a tone i like.

I know most people will say, set everything flat and start from there, so before you do let me tell you that i have been doing that, however i just can't seem to get a tone i really like.
The problem i have is that when i play with fingers, it sounds a bit too "boomy" and what im looking is, i don't know how to put it, a tone with more "Life" to it, something meaty with a bit of grind or snarl to it but without the need to use a pick. (I got nothing against picks i just preffer fingerstyle).

On a sie note, could it be because of the 1x15 speaker on it?

Anyway i was hoping i could get some help from you guys like what i should be adding more off or cutting to get somewhat close to what im looking for. Thanks in Advance!

I scooped the Mids, upper the lows around 1 o'clock and the highs around 4 o'clock and I get it pretty nice, it sounds a lot punchyier with a 2x10 hitched in an beating the heck outta the strings

Try...
Gain at 9 or 10 o'clock
Frequency all the way up
Lows and High Mids at 1 o'clock
low mids at 2 o'clock
high at 3 o'clock

Hey guys just ot let you know that i've found a setting that suits me a bit, scooping the mids got me somewhat closer but what i think ill do next is lower the strings so i can have more attack.

Anyway i was thinking about what i've previously read around the forums and that's that scooping the mids might sound good while playing alone but in a live setting i might get lost. I didint turn the knobs all the way down, more like at 9 o clock both low and high mids, what do you think?
